This print was produce from the roll that I was having issues with; the roll was half developed properly and the other half developed too dark. This was one of the prints that was on the good side of the roll. I choose to talk about this print this week because I have come to the conclusion that I like taking pictures of lights or extreme contrasts. I had to do minimal burning in this print because the picture was taken at night. So the dark contrast in the print is natural. However I did burn the edges to increase the luminous effect of the lamp. I liked how the there is a wide rang on contest from the light, to the entrance of the doorway, to the shadow of the lamp, and the otter rim of the print. This print has to be on of my favorites out of my portfolio.
This print was different from my rest because it was only developed for 5 seconds. The rest of my prints were over 20 seconds and some were even in the high 90 - 100s. It was harder to deal with the short frame of time because the burning was only 1-2 seconds long and I have been used to it being around 20-30 seconds long. This was difficult for me to change my technique because I was not used to how dark the print was going to be if I burned for more than 2 seconds. The print was completely black with little detail showing through. However, I adjusted and came out with this print, which I am extremely happy with.

Beautiful print Rachel! Glad you were able to make it work and got in some experience with shorter printing times.
