Fourth Post

What I like about this photo is simplistic. Basic. The lanky thin and crooked concave forging across the shot. It's central, grounded, rooted, neatly overlapped atop the manifold textures of decaying grass, truncated not by motorized blade but by time itself. The clutter of acorns, shells and cores, the cascaded leaves of browning shade and tone. This to me is earth, earth partitioned and bisected by shadowed limbs, mid-eve dusk. Soil, fertility in decadence, latticed and explicated by highlighting divisions. The bony lines slicing through themselves elicit focus whilst primarily, I believe, brings the backdrop to the fore. The photograph stands as a cornucopia of details, details affiliated with a unified plain of terra firma. A part of me realizes the outstanding, ostentatious aspect of the three-like branches laying over the full field of view and comprehends the distracting quality of what otherwise is the main attraction of the photograph's contents. It is with that knowledge and conscientiousness of my own mis-gauging that I recognize the challenge for other people, the audience, to derive the similar feelings I've gleaned from the work itself. As it is captured now, the contents are maybe too suppressed to veritably inflate the earthy details ubiquitously.
