Fourth Blog

This week, I decided to print this picture of a fence. I chose this image because I thought that it would have a nice range of gray tones. I also like the contrast between the lights and shadows. When you look at the image, you can see the immediate difference in the front of the fence and the back of the fence. It looks as if the shadow and the light is concisely divided in the middle. When looking at this picture, I noticed that there was also a shade difference between the two walls of the house. The front side of the house is shades darker than the side wall of the house. It looks very similar to the contrast with the sides fence. My eye travels along the fence; where it starts and where it ends. I follow it because I want to see where the shapes of the fence lead to and how the fence changes. I also follow the fence because it is very structured and orderly. When I look at this image, I get a curious feeling. There's only a corner of a fence that is shown and I am curious to see what else is beyond this image.
