I developed film during Wednesday's class. I choose to talk about my film development because lately my films have been coming back really dark. On Monday's class I tried to develop a photo from my dark film and my exposure time was at about 100 seconds. This week's film is not as dark as last times but it is still darker than the norm. It is hard to see through my pictures but the film on the left has a blue streak going through the roll of film. From what I can infer this is a chemical issue but I am not sure how it occurred or which chemical is causing this blue tint to occur. The roll of film on the right is about 3 shades darker than the roll on the left. I don't know how this happened because I produced the two rolls of film in the same container. Basically I am having trouble producing rolls of film lately and I think the next time I do so I will need assistance. I know there are ways to work around the dark film but it takes up to two class times to even produce one full sheet image from my negatives.

Thanks for sharing Rachel. Lets take a look at the blue streak in class together, that looks like something that happened in development and may have to do with how the film was sitting on the reel. The dark images look like overexposure. If you bring your camera to class we can look at camera settings together to make sure you are choosing the appropriate settings when taking pictures to avoid overexposure. I know how frustrating this can be since it takes multiple class sessions to process and print. Once we adjust for what's happening with the film things should go faster.
