For my third week's post, I have chosen this print. In my first week's post, I had stated that that particular picture was my favorite thus far, but this picture has taken it's place. There are so many different areas of dark/shadows and light. That is what keeps my eye moving all around the piece because even on the focal point (which is the plant), there are many different areas of dark and light.
I also used a filter on this picture to try to achieve greater contrast, and I am very happy about the contrast I achieved. I did not want the lights to be completely white, but light enough so that the lights and darks are easily differentiated.
The root of the plant if the darkest part of this photograph and really makes it pop especially because of how light it is at the top where the leaves are. The shadows make many abstract shapes on the ground, and it is very pleasing to my eye. I am more than happy with how this piece came out! It is overall a piece that I really enjoy.
